We established Mirinmoy Art Gallery in the year 1998 with the support of art connoisseurs, teachers, and the young generation of artists of our Chittagong port city. The name for the gallery which is aptly chosen as mrinmoy (মৃন্ময়) for earthen, since it is our medium for sculptures. Being an artist we felt the need to have an open space for the young artists of our time to have exposure. This thought made us quite serious to offer an independent space for them to interact daily with our precursors, the teachers who were harbinger of arts and who paved the way the tradition art scenario in Bangladesh. We do this by also collecting works by our masters and contemporary artists so that our younger generation can view and form ideas by knowing and gleaning from our tradition and heritage of our country. As this modern diversity and exposure to global art scenario overtaking us, there is certain tendency we observe that the young generation growing up devoid of our local and traditional value of arts and crafts. It is indeed an urge to bring local culture and for that matter the national character to uphold and pave the way with Mrinmoy Art Gallery, since there is a dearth of art galleries in Chittagong city. We are very keen in bringing young artists to interact with various genres of artistic forms through workshops and exhibitions (solo and groups). We welcome you all to our Art Gallery Mrinmoy at North khulshi residential area, at Road # 6House # 3, Sanmar park avenue Chittagong everyday from 11am to 5pm in the evening.
